I Love Adult Toys:) #FixThePlus

Not that kind of toys!

When my kids were little I was in toy heaven. I got to color, 'test' out toys and generally have an excuse to see through the eyes of a child. Although my inner-child is ready to come out at a moments notice.

I am a big fan of the trampoline, all that bouncing until I fell off so I will continue to steer clear of those.

Adult coloring books are making a comeback which my daughter-in-law loves to do so I know what I'm getting her for Christmas. Clicking on the link you can get some free printables.

There are parks popping up for senior citizens where you can play all day or at least until your arthritis flares up.
Go to http://www.governing.com/generations/government-management/gov-senior-playgrounds-popping-up.html

I love this quote:

As George Bernard Shaw famously said, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”

Which of course I'm a firm believer in. So don't forget to smile and play as if it was your last day.

What do you do for fun?

Eat Your Vegetables Day #FixThePlus

Today we celebrate eating your veggies. When I was growing up I used to hide my peas under my mashed potatoes thinking I was fooling my parents.

Today I love vegetables, I could live on them. A lot of people do live on just vegetable whether out of respect for animals or just plain want to be Vegan. Even people who enjoy meat balk at eating lamb or veal.

Here are some of the veggies you can grow indoors as well as out.

VEGETABLES

  • Peppers
  • Salad Greens
  • Kale
  • Chard
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes, especially cherry types Beans
So open wide and much out on your vegetables!

What's your favorite vegetable?

Hold On To Your Hats!

Smiles come in all shapes and forms. I was sitting at my laptop trying to blog or I could have been over at Google +. Wherever I was I was waiting for that little hamster wheel to stop spinning as I explained over at +Jeremy Crow 's Humor blog.

My sigh was a long one and Grandpa Rose chuckles and tells me he felt that from over on his side. Deep into whatever I was up to I had no idea what he was referring to so he informs me that my sigh was like the North Wind, good thing he had a shaved head or it would have blown back!

I giggle thinking and then saying out loud, my sigh was cold? To which he replied oh yeah, it was a hot breeze which I broke in and we both at the same time exclaimed: "from the South"!
Now I owe him another Coke.

Smile and Say Hello

As a rule, when I go out for a walk and see someone walking up and passing me I will smile and say hello. When a car goes by and it's coming towards me I will smile and wave a hello. It's just my nature.

When I went for my last walk I had walked up to where the bridge is turning left to continue over the water under the bridge. It's a two layered bridge! Coming towards me in the distance I see a figure coming towards me dressed in what I call 'rapper's clothes' but that's okay, each to their own. As the figure gets closer this person has a baseball cap on so I can't tell male or female yet but as we close in on each other I smile and say hello, how are you today?

'She' is wearing the baseball hat with shortish white hair coming out, dark sunglasses, a big hoodie, dark blue, baggie shorts, short socks and tennis shoes. When she opened her mouth I could see gaps where she used to have a tooth and she replied the same back to me. I have befriended or been friendly with all sorts of people from all walks of life so to me this was just one more.

When she asked me how I was I turned telling her I was a new grandma with one on the way. She tells me she's pregnant which mentally one eyebrow went up, and it's her third one. All I could picture was little baby rappers running around.

As I made my way up to the store, I got what I wanted returning home I see this young woman again coming in my direction (that's how small our town is) again so I call out, "wow you sure get around"! to which I got the rapper's 'what's up nod' and I say this with a big smile.

It's surprising what you can glean out of a very short time of contact.

Do you say hello when your out for a walk?
